Welcome to the Crone PTSA
Welcome to the Crone Middle School PTSA page! One of the most important roles of the PTSA is to encourage parent involvement in our school. It is our goal to help you stay informed and connected in the education of your child. The PTSA at Crone sponsors or helps to sponsor many activities throughout the school year, such as Interdisciplinary enhancements, parent education, LMC, end of year events, health & safety, and staff appreciation events, just to name a few. These are all worthwhile and rewarding activities, but they cannot take place without YOU, our parent volunteers. Apart from serving on committees at Crone, there are other volunteer opportunities available. We wish you an enriching and rewarding year at Crone Middle School.

About Reflections Program: Designed to enhance rather than replace a quality arts education, the PTA® Reflections ProgramSM provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts.
PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation in its annual arts Reflections Program. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition.
Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six areas: DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY,
VISUAL ARTS (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage)
For more than 40 years, the program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to create works of art.
Studies have shown that arts education can enhance a child's personal, social, and intellectual development. With that being said, Crone PTSA welcomes all the Crone students to the Reflections Program! Reflections is an extracurricular arts competition sponsored by the National PTA and is designed to encourage students nationwide to creatively express themselves through dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts. Each year Crone Middle School is greatly represented in the competition. Don't miss out! Please encourage your child to enter!
This is a non-graded division limited to students whose physical, cognitive or mental health challenges meet the guidelines set forth in the American Disabilities Act. Qualifying students create their own artwork but may receive non-artistic accommodation and assistance from an adult. Students who qualify for the Special Artist Division may choose to enter in the traditional grade division. If this is the case, the student will follow all general rules and arts category rules, but may submit the entry in the grade division most closely aligned to their cognitive or functional abilities. The student is recognized and awarded as part of the general student population without regard to special needs or challenges. Illinois PTA will honor one entry in each art category from each Illinois.
Number of Entries Per Student:
Students may enter as many works of art in as many categories as they wish.
All entries must follow both the General Rules and the Comprehensive Rules.
Official Student Entry Form:
The Official Student Entry Form can be downloaded here.
All entries will be judged on expression of the theme, originality, creativity, and artistic merit. Three to five pieces of work from each category and grade division will be chosen to represent Crone Middle School at the local Indian Prairie Parent's Council level of the competition. A student's work could then be judged to continue on the competition trail to Northern Illinois District 36, then to the State of Illinois, and finally to the National competition in Washington DC.
Each student is encouraged to make and keep a copy of the submitted work. Some projects may not be returned safely, and work will not be returned by the National PTA.
