Crone Middle School

Indian Prairie School District 204

We are proud to announce the final rosters have been set! As most know we have been awaiting this moment since her start as a USA athlete this past spring!

Crone's very own Alyssa Dunn (8th grade) will be competing in Berlin, Germany representing Team USA at the 2015 Cup Of Berlin.

Team USA - The United States Figure skating Association, the same organization that selects our Olympic Competitors selects the teams that are to represent the United States at International competitions.

During the week of December 8th the Naperville Patriots 14U Team competed in Orlando for the YFL National Championship. The good news......they won! Congrats to Kyle Borske and Tommy Urso for being part of the championship team!

3 Teams of 4 Crone 8th graders competed this November against many other teams from schools around the area at the NFPA Challenge. The NFPA or National Fluid Power Association Challenge was a STEM event where students were presented with an engineering design challenge. They had 2 months to design and test a machine to lift "toxic" cylinders from one area and deposit them in another without dropping them. The students used hydraulics in the form of syringes as the power behind the movement. Students went to the competition with their tools and their design and had 3 hours to build their machines from scratch using the materials provided before testing at 1 PM.

There were 5 awards given out: Best Team Work, Best Portfolio, Best Design, Highest Score in Competition, and Best Over All. One Crone team: Sean Fu, Michael Han, Kyle Domingos, and Akshay Dugar took Best Over All and received the biggest trophy.
